- Notification preferences: whether push notifications are enabled
- Language: selected app language
- Account activity: last login method, last app visit, profile submission count
3.3 Payment information
If you purchase a premium subscription or in-app product (Super Smiles, VIP Pass, Video Update Priority), payment is processed by RevenueCat and the relevant store (Apple App Store or Google Play). We do not store your card details. We record transaction identifiers, subscription status, and purchase dates.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal data to:
- Create and manage your account and verify your identity
- Show your profile to other users that match your preferences
- Enable features such as smiles, matching, video calls, and notifications
- Review your profile — submitted photos and videos are reviewed by our team before becoming visible
- Manage subscriptions and in-app purchases through RevenueCat
- Send communications — transactional emails (account updates, review results) and push notifications (new matches, messages, promotions)
- Improve the App — we analyse aggregated data to understand how users interact with Eight and to fix bugs
- Ensure safety — handle reports, investigate abuse, and enforce the Terms of Service

7. Profile Review
Before your profile becomes visible to other users, our team manually reviews the submitted photo and verification video. During review, your media is accessible only to authorised Eight staff. Profiles that do not meet our guidelines will be rejected.
8. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We only share your data:
- With the providers listed in Section 6, under strict contractual obligations
- When required by law, court order, or governmental authority
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of Eight, its users, or the public
- With your explicit consent
9. Data Retention
We keep your personal data while your account is active. When you delete your account:
- Your profile, photos, and videos are removed from our database
- Analytics data may be retained in anonymised or aggregated form
- Transaction records may be kept for up to 7 years to comply with legal and accounting obligations

- Media hosted on Cloudinary's secure CDN with access controls
No system is completely secure. In the event of a data breach that may result in a high risk to your rights, we will notify you and the competent authority as required by law.
13. International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States, where some of our providers operate (Firebase/Google, Mixpanel, Cloudinary, etc.). When such transfers occur, we ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses under the GDPR).
14. Children's Privacy
Eight is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately at support@eightdating.com.
